Corporate Analysis: Matador Resources Q2 2026
Matador Resources entered the second half of 2026 with a significantly larger and higher-quality Delaware Basin inventory position following an aggressive acquisition campaign. The company committed more than $2.6 billion to upstream acquisitions through the May BLM lease sale, the Paloma Permian acquisition, and Woodford deep-rights leasing and acquisitions. Novi’s updated Delaware inventory model increases Matador’s remaining gross location count from approximately 3,900 to 5,918, with 97% of modeled locations generating an NPV25 breakeven below $75/bbl WTI. At its modeled 2026 development pace, that inventory represents more than 37 years of runway. This Q2 2026 Corporate Note examines how that expanded inventory base could shape Matador’s production growth, reinvestment requirements, leverage, free cash flow, and future capital allocation. *Please note that this report is only available for Novi Intelligence subscribers.
