US – update through September 2021
US tight oil production rose to 7.5 million b/d in September (after upcoming revisions), 0.4 million b/d more than at the start of 2021. Tight gas production is already setting new heights each month (toggle product to ‘Gas’ to see this), and came in at 85 Bcf/d in September.
Permian – update through September 2021
Permian tight oil production continues to recover and in September topped 4.2 million b/d (after upcoming revisions, horizontal wells only). We expect that earlier in Q4 this year already a new output record was set. Natural gas production rose as well, and was close to 17 Bcf/d in September.
North Dakota – update through October 2021
Oil production in North Dakota from horizontal wells was flat m-o-m for the 2nd month in a row, at 1.07 million b/d in October. Natural gas output, at 2.9 Bcf/d, was close to the historical high in November 2019 (3.1 Bcf/d). Only 492 new horizontal wells were completed through October, the lowest number since 2009.
US – update through August 2021
US tight oil production rose to over 7.3 million b/d in August (after upcoming revisions), the highest level since May last year (6.2 million b/d), although still below the peak in November 2019 (8.4 million b/d). Excluding West Virginia, tight gas production is already setting new records, and was 78 Bcf/d in August (toggle product to ‘Gas’ to see this).
Haynesville – update through August 2021
Natural gas production in the Haynesville continues to set new heights and in August was about 12.2 Bcf/d (after upcoming revisions).
Pennsylvania – update through September 2021
Natural gas production in Pennsylvania came in at 20.4 Bcf/d in September (Hz. wells only), slightly below where it started this year (20.7), but 1.8 Bcf/d higher than 12 months earlier.
